Trust Christ & His plan
6 Jan 2021
In the intro to Habakkuk, there is a statement that I find comes up on fair occasion in discussions on Faith:
Why does evil seem to go unpunished for so long? Why does God sometimes reprove a lesser evil by sending a greater evil?
God's answer is that 'the just' live by faith, whether they have all the answers or not.
Political divide, plagues (pandemics), the holocaust, the 9/11 attacks, might all be considered examples of evil that the average moral person wished God would have stopped or never let happen.
It is important to remember that God provided mankind with free will because forced love isn't really love; and in all of these occasions, these horrific events were due to a choice made by man. This verse provides an additional reason why such things occur on earth: We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one (1 John 5:19 ).
To conclude, it is through Faith that we find the strength to be true to God's Will, to His Word, and to trust His plan. The plan will come to light soon enough.
